Before Starting
Check that the following is ready:
- Account access with admin privileges
- An edge device or server with an agent connected to the platform
Preparing a camera
First, we need to have a location for the camera. This is typically mapped to an NVR where each camera is a channel, or just a site with multiple IP cameras.
Go to Contextualization and Add an Asset with type Camera Zone.

FIll out relevant information: Name, Asset Type: Camera Zone, Configuration Type: Surveillance NVR, Icon: Building 1

After this step we can add the camera inside the Zone:

When creating using a Template, simply modify the Name of the asset to ensure is unique within the Camera Zone.

The new camera can now be accessed either via expanding the Parent Zone on the ribbon, or in the list of assets:

Last step is to set up the camera IP, username and password.

In this case, we will just need an IP, username and password, Port is the HTTP port of the camera, in this case default as 80.

Now that the Camera is configured. We need to deploy it. This example uses the basic default model before any adjustments of the specific client, analyzing images every 3 seconds.
Deploy Configuration on device.
Check that Edge Device with access to the cameras is online.

With Assisted Mode ON, Add an agent.

As an example, we will load an agent for a Hikvision IP camera.

Next step: Select the cameras to be added:

Add them and they will show up on the list of Cameras.

FInally a JSON configuration will be generated. Advanced changes can be made here before saving, which won’t be covered on this document.

Edge modules will be deployed. It might take some minutes before downloads are ready.
After modules are running, they can be monitored on the Modules Tab.

Back to contextualization. Camera should have now a Background and Green Statuses, like this:

Final Steps
Further settings can be made directly in the Camera Settings under Sensors Tab and Events. If configuration was made using an Asset Template like in this example, sensor rules might already be setup so no further changes might be required other than setting up the Zone, and some minor timing changes, as shown:
